The Storytelling Festival: Connecting to Place will be a one-day event held in Duvall Washington that will bring the art of storytelling to the community. This one-day festival will offer three ways of engaging with storytelling to offer participants a diverse and unique experience.

  • Storytelling Workshop

    The festival will kick off with a Storytelling Workshop for those who want to learn more about the art of storytelling and develop their skills as a storyteller. This is a FREE 2 Hour workshop hosted by Wilderness Awareness School staff member Nicole O’Byrne and is limited to 30 People. Sign-Up in advance to book your spot.

    Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm

  • Open Mic at The Grange

    Join us at one of Duvall’s most delicious restaurants the Grange for lunch and for our Open Mic session. All levels of storytellers are welcome to prepare a 2 - 5 minute story on the theme of Home. Please sign-up in advance so we can make sure everyone is heard!

    Time: 1:30pm - 4:00pm

  • Featured Storytellers

    In the early evening, there will be a series of Featured Professional Storyteller to share stories based in traditional folklore and myths. We will be outside under a tent on the Duvall Arts Foundation land, so bring things to stay warm under the night sky.

    Location: DFA Lot

    Time: 5:00pm to 8:00pm

This Storytelling Festival has truly been a product of community collaboration, bringing together a vibrant mix of local artists, businesses, and diverse community groups. It's a celebration of our collective creativity, heritage, and shared experiences. The festival highlights the power of storytelling to connect people from all walks of life, fostering understanding, empathy, and unity. By uniting artists from different backgrounds and local businesses, we've been able to create an event that reflects the rich tapestry of our community, showcasing a variety of perspectives and voices.

The Storytelling Festival is FREE to all participants due to the support of Duvall Foundation for the Arts.
